In the realm such is the case with the remarkable story behind the psychological thriller "Intent Unknown." As a seasoned teacher of 30 years, I embarked on a new adventure, co-writing and producing my first feature film. This exhilarating endeavor not only unveiled the depths of my creative potential but also provided a platform to support and nurture emerging talent. Together with Director Terence Gordon, we crafted a captivating tale that explores the complexities of human nature and offers a unique perspective on the trolley dilemma – a theme that resonates deeply within us all.
Unveiling New Talent: One of the most fulfilling aspects of working on "Intent Unknown" was the opportunity to give aspiring actors their first break in the industry. We firmly believe in the power of fresh faces and untapped potential, and this belief led us to cast a group of talented newcomers. Lucy Deacon played Harper, the protagonist, Her character, demonstrated extreme strength, physically and mentally; Lucy gave an outstanding performance. Breanna Porter played Luna, one of the four psychology students. As a first time actress, Breanna shined! Also playing the psychology students were Analysa Jackson (Amelia) and Cameron Muston (Chase). These individuals were not only able to showcase their skills alongside seasoned actors such as Eric Roberts and Julianne Michelle but also brought a unique energy and enthusiasm to the set. Witnessing the growth and development of these budding stars was truly a gratifying experience, reminding us that success knows no bounds when passion and dedication are involved.
Inclusivity and Empowerment: As we looked for the ” right person” to play the character Harold, we were proud to cast, Ricky Barlett, a handicapped actor, a double amputee, in a leading role. This decision was driven by our belief in equal representation and the importance of providing opportunities for individuals from all walks of life. By showcasing the remarkable talent and resilience of this actor, we aimed to challenge societal perceptions and break down barriers. The inclusion of this exceptional individual not only added depth to the film but also served as a powerful reminder that talent knows no boundaries.
